Puppies and snow, oh my!

I've been wanting to take Kokua and Kapone up to the mountains to play in the snow for the past couple of winters but we never had the chance. Kokua absolutely loves the snow and Kapone has never really gotten the chance to frolic in the fluffy white stuff but with this year's crazy winter we have gotten tons of snow in the valley so we didn't have to drive all the way the mountains just to play in it!
One Saturday, we drove up 8th Street to the foot hills, found a trail and hiked around for a couple hours with the dogs running up and down the trail and all over the mountain side. Most of this trail was very narrow so we had to stay in line but Rocco kept running up the side of the hill and Kapone would follow. Kokua stayed on the trail most of the time with us. We had loads of fun and it actually wasn't too cold so I was very happy about that!
Then a couple weekends ago we took the puppies up again to play in the snow and hike around. This time we went to Seamans Gulch Road and found a fun trail to hike. This trail was nice and wide with a lot of fields for the puppies to run and play.
You can see the crappy inversion that we have been having in some of these pictures. We weren't high enough to actually be above it but it was a little better.
I love Kokua's snow mustache on this one!! At one point she was hot on the trail of some little creature and she was digging like crazy in the snow! We stood there and watched her for like 10 minutes. Rocco tried to help a couple of times but got board and gave up I guess. Kapone could have cared less about what she was doing, he was too busy exploring every inch of the hillside.
There was one point I was trying to take pictures of the puppies and Rocco tried to attack me. He was so cute, he kept jumping up and trying to lick my hands. I tried to get him mid-air but these were as good as it got:
I did get my picture of the three of them though and it's super cute!
We love hanging out with the Munks!
It is so fun to live so close to these awesome friends and have puppy play dates on the weekends!
