Weekend fun

Oh boy! Last weekend was crazy!
Friday
It started off a little bad, I called in sick to work because I wasn't feeling well. It was no fun, so I was lazy and stayed in my jammies most of the afternoon. There were these two girls near our place sitting out on top of their roof playing their flute and trumpet at people as they drove/walked by. Friday was the beginning of Spring Break, I guess this is what they did to kick it off. I just had to take a photo when I drove by.

It was also Uncle Randy's birthday so I got the chance to make him a card, that was good!

Happy Birthday Randy!
Saturday

Danny had his CrossFit certification!
I dropped him off at the gym at 8:30am and picked him up at 5:30. It was a long day, he had to sit through lectures as well as doing intense training. I'm so proud of him, he did an awesome job!
While he was working hard I was running errands. I had a lot to do before I went and picked him up, I was all over the place. Right after I got him he had to shower and change for the wedding reception. We had a lot of fun seeing Austin and Karalee! I'm so happy and excited for them! And dang it, I didn't even get a picture of them. I was pretty sad. But here are some photos that I was able to take.
Their reception was at Rembrandt's in Eagle. This is such a fun place! They had these yummy looking crepes and lots of fruit. Of course I wasn't allowed to have anything but Danny said it was all really good. I just sipped my water.... Their colors were Black, White and Hot Pink. It was so pretty, I love the decorations! And they had a slide show going most of the time, it was way cute!
The tables were very pretty! The lighting wasn't very good for my cell phone camera but you get the idea, I don't know why everything looks really blue...
And then the cake.....
OH the cake! It was so yummy! I had to steal a bite of the middle! It was chocolate with peanut butter. I think this is my new favorite!
And because Danny loves this photo:
Here is Ryan enjoying his cake from across the room.
After the reception we went over to visit Katie and Travis. They had a sweet baby girl Adell, just a few months ago. I got to hold her, she is the sweetest little thing! I just love her little nose! They were up for the weekend and it was a lot of fun seeing them and catching up.
Saturday was so much fun and so busy, I was so exhausted by the time we got home. Right as we pulled into the driveway Danny felt the car driving a little weird. Well we got out and the tire was flat as a pancake. I am so so so glad it happened when we got home and not while I was driving on the freeway. I took that car all over the place and I would have been freaked out and stranded someplace if it had happened any earlier or worse, who knows what could have happened. It was pretty convenient, or as convenient as having a flat tire can be....
Sunday
Unfortunately Danny's certification is a two day thing and he had to be gone all day for that. I got to drop him off in the morning and go to Sacrament Meeting alone. It was the first time I have gone to church alone sense we got married and it was pretty weird.
After church I came home and started baking! This is my favorite Sunday pastime. I wanted to recreate the yummy cake from the reception. So I baked my delicious chocolate cake and pulled our the peanut butter to make up a filling recipe. Oh man, it turned out so good! And then I made up a vanilla frosting recipe. When I put it all together I put too much filling in so it messed up the cake and I had the Grand Canyon going right down the middle, but it still tasted yummy.
I threw on the mini chocolate chips to make it look better.
After I was done I popped it in the freezer hoping that it would hold together better if it was cold. Then I got a call from Danny telling me he got done early. Dang it, I was hoping to be there early so he didn't have to wait for me! So much for the plan, so I grabbed the cake and tucked it into the jeep and headed downtown to pick him up. From there we went straight to Sunday dinner. It was a really crazy weekend but we had a lot of fun and Danny is now a certified CrossFit trainer!!!! Yay, this will be so good for him! I'm very happy he was able to do it!
We also found out Sunday night that I wont be stage ready by May 1st. If you have been following my competition blog you probably know this already.
I decided that I am going to do the August show!
Just when I thought I was almost finished, another 4-5 months of training. But I'm thinking it wont be that bad. I'm never going to do this again so I might as well continue on and see how well I can do in the August show.
Well, it was an awesome weekend and next weekend:
YAY!
