Our little Halloween project

I am just so excited to post the photos of the Witches Hats! I had such a fun time making these for all the kids. I started this project on General Conference Weekend! I decided while I was watching the morning session on Saturday that I would cut out everything I needed for these little hats. It took me a while to get them all cut and scored and to get the buckles all cut out. This is a really cool punch that you can buy but I don’t have it so mine took quite a bit longer to do. I had so much fun! After I got everything cut out and that part was done the morning session was over and I had to run to my eye appointment.
During the afternoon session I was able to glue all the brims on and cut out the stars. I stamped my candy corn stamp on the green paper then punched the stars out of that. I tried to get as much candy corn as I could. It turned out supper cute! The talks were so great and it was nice I could watch conference and pay attention. Sad to say usually I get sleepy. I decided to be done for the day and I put everything away to return to it the next weekend.
Well I just got too excited and I had to work on them some more! So Monday rolled around and I got them all out and glued all the stars on and the belt/buckle. They were looking so cute! I got so excited to send them out! I thought we might be able to send them out a week early when I realized with all my excitement I forgot to make a tag. So the next night I started on the tags.
I only had time to stamp the greeting and the spider web and I had to put everything away again. The next few days I was pretty busy and I didn’t have a lot of time to play with the hats. It wasn’t until the next week I finished the tags. Then I had to get some ribbon to match everything. Danny and I got to pick out candy one night! I think this was his favorite part.
I would recommend if you like Starbursts to get the new ‘All Reds’ bag. The watermelon flavored ones are soooo good! Unfortunately no one got that flavor in their hats because Danny and I ate all of them. Sorry to say, you will just need to go buy a bag and try them out for yourself. See if you can keep yourself from eating them all!
MmMmMmMmMm so yummy!
They were so much fun to fill! I was surprised to see how much candy could actually fit inside of them! Then it was time for packaging (at least for 4 of the hats).
Saturday we took our 2 boxes of goodies down to the post office and sent them out! We were both very excited!!! The rest of the hats we were able to give to the kids on Sunday and Tuesday. It was so much fun! I hope everyone enjoys their little treats!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
