As everyone knows, my birthday was last weekend! I was born 22 years ago in the early morning of July 11th 1987 in Seoul, S. Korea. MOM CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! I AM 22!!!!!
Here is my darling mug from my first passport :)
And 22 years later...
Still have those puffy cheeks :)
To celebrate the big day I took Friday off of work so I could stay home and play. We had just gotten Direct TV that week and I have never had cable TV so I got up at 8 and watched some TV and the CMT countdown top 20 music videos. It was way fun. Then after about an hour and a half of that I decided I should probably not be lazy and get ready. So I went and showered and decided it would be fun to curl my hair. That was a great idea, took forever! Danny came home from work and we had lunch then he had to go back for his work meeting. I dropped him off and Kokua and I hit the Walmart to get conditioner. (Can't run out of that stuff!) Then it was back home to drop off the puppy and exchange cars to go pick up Danny. I got him from work and we went straight to the mall!
Danny decided to take me shopping for my birthday and of course I had no objections! What girl turns down a shopping spree at the mall? This was probably the fastest spree ever! I wanted to check out the Buckle to see if there was anything cute that sparked my interest. Of course I had to check out their shoes, they were so stinkin cute! But do you think they would have had my size in the gorgeous white heels, the one pair of shoes that I wanted??? Of course not! Closest thing was 2 sizes too big. DANG IT! So I checked out the T-shirts. They have such fun stuff there. In a matter of a few seconds I had an arm full of shirts and the sails girl was asking if I would like a room. She too had an arm full of shirts she thought I might like. I was in the dressing room trying on everything. Even found some jeans and a bunch of capris!
After trying on half the store I settled on 2 super sweet shirts and a pair of really cute jean capris, just LOVE them! I think we were at the mall for a total of 1 hour. That's parking, walking in, talking to a friend, looking at clothes, trying on a million things, spending 10 minutes talking myself out of shoes that were too big, walking out and driving away. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! That was some kind of record! Then it was back home for dinner!
Saturday, the BIG day...
We had the Jackson Family Reunion to go to at noon. I think I woke up at like 10 so I had to hurry and shower and get ready. While I was straightening my hair I hear what sounds like a garbage truck outside. Wednesday is our trash day not Saturday so I was a little confused. I went to look out the window and was shocked when I saw an RC Willy truck outside. I thought, well neat someone must have bought something. So I went back to my hair. Then when I saw what looked like a mattress leaned up against my bedroom window, the one right next to the door, I thought I should do a little more investigating. I walked out to the front to ask Danny what was going on and he just smiled and said, they need to see your ID. Well thanks hunny, I'm confused and wondering who are these strange men apparently from RC Willy? And what is that? And why are they bringing it into our house? And why is he cutting that open? Why are they asking where can they set it up? What is it? Someone tell me what's going on!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just walked into the kitchen and got out of the way! Danny finally came in and explained, "Cath got you a bed!" What, really are you serious? A bed! You're mom got me a bed? He just had a huge smile on his face. Then I started crying. Ya, I'll admit it, I did :) I was shocked and so happy! Then he told me how hard it was to keep the secret for 2 weeks! I love surprises and this I was not expecting. I was VERY surprised! The RC Willy guys left so we held hands and went in together. So you can't really see it because the covers are doing their job, covering but it's the frame and box spring! Just notice how the mattress is not on the floor any more!!! And 100 times more comfortable now!
So we were late to the family reunion. We got there just in time for the food! And then the raffle. Dang it, we put 5 tickets in and didn't win anything! It was my birthday, I thought I deserved to win something! Mom brought a cake though, that was yummy!
It's a jello cake and if you can't read the whipped cream it says "Happy B-day April" Mom is so clever! I decided I really like cake! And mom gave me bowls for my birthday!! They are so cute! And they match the plates that she gave us for the wedding! Danny was so excited, I wouldn't let him buy any more bowls because they wouldn't match. So now we have more bowls for him to eat his cereal in. Hurray!
After the reunion Danny and I went home and hung out and watched the UFC fights. It was pretty entertaining. We watched the Top 10 fights, it was building up to the Big Saturday night fight which we didn't get to see because it was on HBO or something. Plus we had to get ready for the Drive-In movie! Oh man, it was so much fun! So we have a jeep, duh everyone knew that, so we (and when I say we I mean Danny) took the back seat out and turned it around so it faced backwards. Then if you move the front seats forward so the back part falls down the back seat would rock back. So we decided to do this during the movie and we could put our feet up on the roof which lays across the back part of the jeep. This is ingenious! It was the best Idea! And so comfortable! So I packed in a blanket and a few pillows. Popped popcorn and Danny had gotten some candy treats and we loaded all the snacks in my big purse and we had Sobes. We were totally ready for the movies! My mom and brother showed up and we headed out to Caldwell. We met my best friends out there (after they drove around timbucktoo forever) and my cousins. The Terrace Drive In theater was showing Wolverine! And I love that movie! We saw it when it first came out and I was excited to see it again!
Sunday, still partying...
After church we went to Sunday dinner! YUM! This is one of our favorite activities. We got there and it was decorated for a party! There were balloons and Happy Birthday napkins :) It was great! Danny's mom made a cake roll. I had never heard about this fabulous cake before and now I am a huge fan! It was so yummy! I love ice cream and cake so of course I was going to love this! Jess and the kids came up for the week so we were able to play with them on Sunday! Ben drew me a picture so we hung it up on the fridge! THANKS BEN!
This was such a great birthday! I couldn't have asked for anything better. I had so much fun! Thank you everyone for being a part of it and making my day so grand!!! And thank you sweetie for the best birthday ever! I can't wait until yours!
Monday
This wasn't part of my birthday but still totally great.... Amy and the boys came up for the week on Monday and as soon as I got off work I raced home so Danny and I could go over and play with all the cubs! It was so much fun! We enjoyed dinner and FHE! Danny was so excited to take Kokua over to play with all the kids! Ben does so well playing fetch with her, it is way fun to watch. Kokua enjoyed every minute of it! She loves the attention, she plays it off sometimes but I know she loves it. :)
We love spending time with our family and we are so grateful to have such great and wonderful people in our family!
