January

Wow, this month has gone so fast; I can't believe it's just about over. It's been a pretty busy month, I have been busy trying to think of an easy, fun and inexpensive birthday gift for my Sunbeams. At church the Sunday before they get sung to in Primary and also get a certificate to take to the bishop to get a treat but I thought it would be fun to give the kids something special just for them from their teachers on their birthday. With some inspiration from an awesome girl at work I am ready for the entire year of birthdays! Thank goodness there are only 8 kids :) Because the first birthday of the year was last Wednesday I didn't have much time to procrastinate, I needed to come up with an idea and fast. Here is how it turned out:
I'm pretty excited about it. All I did was make some play dough which didn't take long at all; design my tag and tie on some cookie cutters. You can't tell too well from the picture but Andrew's dough is bright blue. The hardest part of the entire gift was deciding which animals we wanted to give away. I got a big variety pack of cookie cutters but I had to convince Danny that we couldn't just give all the kids circles, that would be no fun for them. But I am pretty excited about all the leftover cutters we will get to play with! I've already made some dinosaur cookies this past week :) If you want the recipe for the play dough click HERE but if you have the book it's in there too; I ended up quartering the recipe because there was no way I was making the entire batch for one kid. It totally wouldn't have fit in my jar.
Another exciting thing that has happened this month was that I was able to go see one of my best friends graduate. It's official now, all of my best friends have graduated college! I am so proud of the three of them!!! Ashlie graduated from BSU this past December and unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to her graduation. Vanessa graduated last Saturday from Brown Mackie College in their Veterinary Tech Program.
All of my pictures turned out pretty blurry and it's driving me nuts but I'm glad I was able to get a few good ones! It was so much fun seeing my friends and spending time with all of them together. Vanessa we are so proud of you!!!
And just because she is so stinking cute; Vanessa's baby girl Laila:
Laila was so excited to see mommy walk across the stage and she cheered extra loud! I couldn't be more proud of Vanessa, she did a great job and I'm so happy she was able to find something she enjoys doing! Now I just hope this means she wont post anymore pictures of snakes on her Facebook!
